I am working mostly on FRANC3D Version 5 software and keeping the old software running!  A lot of my work over the past few years is proprietary, funded by GE or Pratt & Whitney.  Lately, I have been modeling fretting fatigue, coupling FRANC3D with ANSYS, ABAQUS, and NASTRAN for 3D finite element based crack growth simulation.

Some of my past research, I can talk about, however.  I worked part-time on a project funded by Kodak to simulate transverse fracturing in multi-layered plastic sheets using FRANC2D and ABAQUS.  I also worked on developing 3D crack growth simulation capabilities within FRANC3D, for simulating 3D hydraulic fracture and for simulating 3D crack growth in rock under compression .  I spent some time making our 3D boundary element program (BES) run on the Cornell Theory Center's Velocity cluster. The goal of this research work was to enable parallel hydraulic fracture simulation.
