Hi...

I am still in Ithaca, working full-time at Fracture Analysis Consultants, Inc and part-time at Cornell University as a Senior Research Associate.

I arrived at Cornell University in April, 1992 immediately after finishing my PhD at the University of Manitoba in Canada. I worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate partly funded by a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada scholarship. I then became a Senior Research Associate at Cornell and started working for Fracture Analysis Consultants, Inc.

Today I am working essentially full time at FAC working on NAVAIR funded SBIRs.  Previous consulting projects with General Electric Power Systems in Greenville, SC and Aircraft Engines in Cincinnati, OH took me out of Ithaca for a couple of years.  I am still an active member of the Cornell Fracture Group.  My education, research and publications are listed in the Research/Work and Education/Interests pages respectively.

I have two wonderful kids - Zane and Max - who keep me motivated.  Zane is 15 and I am teaching him about cracking and fatigue when he takes a break from his video games.  He and Max, who is 12, both like rocks - so I get to teach them a little about geology when we go hiking.  Ithaca is a great place to go hiking with all of its gorges and waterfalls in the local state parks.  Although it can get cold, it makes for pretty scenery at times.

Greenville, SC is close to the Smoky and Blue Ridge Mountains, and the state parks are not very far away, and the weather is a little warmer, plus I like warm sandy beaches and Myrtle Beach is not far away...

I am putting together my personal www page for family and friends to see pictures of my kids and whatever else I decide to put in there.
